Full-figure models ready for TV debut

Published: Wednesday | November 11, 2009

Pulse made history at this year's Caribbean Model Search (CMS) when it named 24-year-old University of the West Indies student Tka Briscoe as its first Full Figure Fashion model winner. The inaugural competition generated extensive interest from plus-size potentials across the Caribbean and, in response, Pulse announced that it would be launching the Caribbean's first CMS Full Figure Reality TV Series. The response to the open call for contestants for the TV show was overwhelming and the judges cut the group down to a select few. The women had to be dynamic, spunky, fashionable and ready to work hard.

Meet two of the models who made the final cut in the reality television event, CMS Plus, which debuts Friday at 9 p.m. on CVM TV.

Montego Bay native Tadesha Snow says she is committed to constant self-improvement and is focused on accomplishing her goals. Currently, her sights are set on winning the inaugural CMS Full Figure Reality TV show competition. "I believe that I am the perfect candidate for the CMS Full Figure search. I have the passion and the drive to win and participating will definitely enhance my character and expose a lot of opportunities for me to launch my career."

Snow admires the creative genius of the Hervé Léger label and hopes one day to rock the runway in their designs. She cites model haven New York as her favourite place in the world because of its cultural diversity. When she isn't daydreaming about her next visit to the 'Big Apple', Snow enjoys listening to Jay-Z.

Marsha Robotham

Age: 28

Height: 5'6"

Sponsor: Coke Zero

A marketing executive by profession, Marsha Robotham believes that the CMS Full Figure Reality TV show was created just for a woman like her. "I am full-figured and fabulous, exactly what the ad asked for. I am a trendsetter and never a follower. Very photogenic, fashionable, stylish and creative!"

Robotham commends Pulse for promoting positive body views through the full-figure model search. "Beauty comes in all shapes, sizes and heights and this competition is the perfect example of that. It reflects the typical Caribbean woman."

When not working on marketing proposals or bonding with her son, Zaine, Robotham spends her leisure time swimming and, in true fashionista style, shopping.
