Does Hyman want Golding to fail?

Why is it that Ralston Hyman, the self-styled financial analyst, seems to 'gleefully' highlight the negatives of the Bruce Golding administration? Not only is he coming across as happy, and the first to do so, but we have noticed that sometimes in his haste to debunk the Government's every decision he get things wrong. Does Ralston Hyman want Bruce Golding to fail?

Kudos to Nuttall Ward Doctors

I would like to use this medium to commend the doctors and nurses of the Nuttall Ward at the Kingston Public Hospital.

Every day you hear all the negative comments about the service at the public hospitals but I must say that my experience has been the opposite.

My mother recently spent five months on the ward and I personally think the doctors and nurses, the nurse assistants and the porters who transported her from the labs, to dialysis and back to the ward have been courteous and respectful to her. The doctors have tried their best and have made recommendations that I think is the reason she is at home with us now.

Again, thanks to the staff of Nuttall at KPH and keep up the good work.

'Good cop, bad cop'

It's so coincidental that Commissioner of Police Hardley Lewin chose to resign during the time of Harry Daley's trial for corruption. Anthony B's song Good Cop, Bad Cop has been well played out in the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF).

The number of corruption cases reported over the years is unbelievably staggering. We have seen more cases of bribery in the JCF than in any other civil service group in Jamaica. The job of the JCF is to fight against crime and violence, as well as to reassure citizens of their safety; however, some police officers are doing the complete opposite. Thus, the level of corruption that I speak of is as high as a kite.

Those in the JCF who fail to uphold the laws of the land are destroying the expensive fabric of our society. Corruption needs to stop! How can these persons who are placed in authority, and are being paid to serve and to protect, allowing themselves to be charged for fraud? How can we the citizens trust them? It's quite unfortunate that we find ourselves in such a predicament, that we don't know who to trust.

Without law and order, there is chaos. I now see why Rear Admiral Lewin has demitted office. Corruption in the JCF cannot continue! The JCF needs immediate revamping; I hope the new commissioner of police will work assiduously to make the police force free of corruption.
