Policemen's trial delayed

Published: Tuesday | October 27, 2009

The four policemen charged with the murder of a 19-year-old man in Grants Pen, St Andrew, appeared in the Home Circuit Court yesterday.

The trial was put off because one of the lawyers in the case was not available. The case was set for mention on November 13 for another trial date to be set.

Noel Bryan, Phillip Dunstan, Clayton Fearon and Omar Miller were charged in October last year following a ruling by the director of public prosecutions.

The officers are charged in connection with the controversial shooting of André Thomas on September 28 last year.

The witnesses who were in court yesterday were told that they did not have to return on the mention date.

Senior Resident Magistrate Marva McIntosh extended the policemen's bail.
