Western Bureau: From the Best of Spain in Jamaica to Sandals' White Nite party in Montego Bay, the Heroes weekend offered several opportunities to unwind through fun-filled entertainment activities.

Caribbean Producers Jamaica hosted its Best of Spain in Jamaica wine and dine event under the patronage of Spanish Ambassador Jesús Silva at the Iberostar hotel. From the décor to the general atmosphere, the culture of Spain was interpreted beautifully to add to the experience of dining like the Spaniards. From matadors to the grand structure of a carved wooden bull, one could have almost mistaken Jamaica for Spain as careful thought extended as far as costuming the staff.

The elegant six-course dinner paired with equally delicious wines introduced food lovers to the culinary world of the Spaniards. From white cream soup with grapes and cantaloupe, Spanish potato omelette with tomato and nut vinaigrette, red snapper with green olive vinaigrette, to lamb with pepper sauce and puréed bay leaves, egg yolk pudding with soft caramel and red fruits and strawberry with yoghurt, the best of Spain gave a superb treat in Jamaica.

ultimate social affair

Nevertheless, it was the White Nite Jet Mystery at Sandals Cay, off the coast of Sandals Royal Caribbean Resort, that was considered the ultimate social affair of the weekend. Guests were ushered on to the private island via boat and, upon arrival, were greeted by 'mystery girls'.

In partnership with Jet Blue, the Jamaica Tourist Board and Thrillist (a group of United States-based bloggers), the event offered a literal approach to getting away from the commonplace partying to upgrade to an exhilarating entertainment event that is sure to reawaken every adult's wild side. The delicious array of Jamaican, Italian and Asian food pleased the guests. International dancehall act Serani gave a thrilling performance to culminate the evening.
