Hottest topics on the cocktail circuit

Not good

1 She is the only talk on the weekend and the consensus is: she's not good for the profession. What seems to cause some great consternation, however, is how she has survived so long!

Banks calling

2 Seem like another poster-child of success has been taken down a peg or two, as the story is the banks have come calling!

No calls

3 The businessman who was supposed to make good on his outstanding bill gave his creditors a shocker as the forwarding number overseas had the following recording: "At the request of the subscriber, this number has been barred from receiving calls."

Pay up!

4 Seem like the landlady never minded the occasional lapse in paying over the rental for her property being used for the high-profile spot. Now the business has fallen on hard times and so, too, have the dalliances, so now the landlady is demanding that the tenant not only pay up but get out.

Juicy bits

5 Decent people take offence to the on-going attempt at character assassination. Not only are they offended, they are providing juicy bits and pieces about the nature, character and history of the offender, and the details make for very juicy chit-chat on the cocktail circuit.

Costly desk?

6 Now there is talk about a million-dollar desk, but insiders are saying the many leaks now surfacing is all about colleagues undermining each other to secure their position in the breakfront!

'Elders' speak

7 They say the dissenting one was given an ultimatum by the 'elders' and even his own supporters - play ball, or be banished.
