Government has cut its allocation to students for sitting external examinations.
Following questions from Opposition Member of Parliament, Maxine Henry-Wilson, Education Minister Andrew Holness said the Government will be taking back $166 million in examination fees.
The allocation would have covered subsidies for Caribbean Examinations Council and General Certificate of Education subjects that high school students sit yearly.
"When we look at what we pay versus what we get back ... it is as if we take up the money and give it to CXC," Holness said.
