Leaders face off at Munro

Western Bureau:
The early front-runners will be aiming to put daylight between themselves and those who are chasing this afternoon at 3:30, when action resumes in the 2009 ISSA/Pepsi/Digicel daCosta Cup schoolboy football competition with action in all 12 competing zones.
A game which should generate special interest is the big top-of-the-table Zone E clash at Munro between arch-rivals and former champions St Elizabeth Technical High School (STETHS) and Munro College, who are both locked on seven points each.
"Our first objective this season is to qualify for the inter-zone round and we are quite confident that we will realise that objective," said Munro's coach Hopeton Gilchrist. "Presently, we are taking it one game at a time."
Among the front-runners on the hunt for maximum points will be defending champions and Zone A leader St James High, who will be seeking to extend their 100 per cent win record to four games when they lock horns with Green Pond High hunting their first win of the season.
"While we have been winning we have not been playing as well as I would have liked," said St James High coach, Pastor Hugh Solomon. "We are working on a few things in training and, hopefully, these will be reflected in our play."
bragging rights
In another high-profile Zone A game, 11-time champions Cornwall College and two-time winners Her-bert Morrison Technical will square off in a Montego Bay super derby at Jarrett Park. While the former have won all their three games, the latter are winless after four games.
However, Cornwall College are poised to lose the three points they gained against Maldon, who have since withdrawn.
In Zone I, all roads should lead to York Town, where former champions Garvey Maceo and Glenmuir square off for bragging rights, as well as to strengthen their bid for zone honours.
Garvey Maceo currently lead the standings with maximum nine points, while Glenmuir, with one win and two draws, are second with five points.
With Port Antonio High, who will be idle today, already taking a stranglehold on Zone L (a), joint second-place teams Titchfield High and Fair Prospect, both on four points, will be aiming to improve on their points tally. Titch-field will oppose Happy Grove, who have three points while Fair Prospect will battle the pointless Buff Bay.
Zone L (b) should also churn out a fair amount of excitement, especially the clash between St Thomas Technical, in second place on seven points, and third-place Paul Bogle High on six. Zone leaders Seaforth, who have nine points from four games, will be inactive today.
