Western Bureau:

Cedric Titus High School lost their 100 per cent win record in the 2009 ISSA/Pepsi/Digicel daCosta Cup schoolboy league football competition yesterday afternoon, when they were surprisingly held to 1-1 draw by a sprightly Aabuthnott Gallimore in their Zone D showdown in Clark's Town.

The Aabuthnott Gallimore team, which came into the game with a win, a draw and a defeat from their previous three games, took a first half 1-0 lead through Fitzroy Campbell.

However, in the second half, Cedric Titus drew level through Oraine McEwan.

Cedric Titus are now second in the group on seven points, while Aabuthnott Gallimore are fourth with four points. Marcus Garvey, who were inactive yesterday, lead the standings with maximum nine points from three games, while William Knibb, who blanked Ocho Rios 2-0, are third on six points.

First-half domination

In their game the William Knibb team, which was bouncing back from a 1-2 loss to Marcus Garvey, dominated the first half and scored both goals before the half-time break, courtesy of Donito Lawrence.

"I thought we played extremely well today," said William Knibb's assistant coach, Shaunavan DeSouza. "We just need to keep on working hard and we should do well this season."

The competition will move into its fourth-round action this afternoon at 3:30 with champions St James High School among the 48 schools that will be featured in the 24 games that will be played across nine of the 12 zones.
