Health, wellness workshop at UWI on Friday

'Raising Organisational Consciousness: Health and Wellness in the Higher Education Workplace' is the theme of a forum scheduled for Friday and is being organised by the Association of Caribbean Higher Education Administrators (ACHEA), Jamaica Chapter and the University of the West Indies, Mona Health Services.

The forum starts at 9 a.m. at the Blue Room of the Mona Visitors' Lodge and Conference Centre, UWI, Mona.

Dr Eva Lewis-Fuller, director of health promotion and protection, ministry of health, will be the guest speaker.

There will also be a panel discussion to examine various perspectives of the issue of health and wellness featuring Danny Roberts, vice-president of the Jamaica Confederation of Trade Unions, Dr Blossom Anglin-Brown, director, UWI, Mona Health Services, Brenda Cuthbert, chief executive officer, Jamaica Employers' Federation (JEF), and Alicia Foster, vice-president, employees benefit division, Guardian Life Limited.

The Forum is designed to provide an occasion for key stakeholders to examine critical issues related to health and wellness in an organisational context and provide practical solutions that will facilitate a healthy working environment.
