Offer six-month gun amnesty

The Editor, Sir:

It is due time for the Government to arrest the crime situation in Jamaica. The Government needs to offer a gun amnesty for about six months for all illegal firearms to be carried in to the relevant authorities, and after that any one caught with a gun that is illegal should be tried and convicted as a murderer and therefore face the death penalty.

Too much blood

We need a government that can rule with an iron fist. To discipline Jamaicans one has to use force to crush lawless people. We need a government that can hear the cry of the people and see their tears and feel their pain. There is too much blood on the street; too many people are hurting. We are fed up of leaders who don't understand the cry of the people. We need crime to be scaled down, people being worried and scared to venture out.

The crime rate is crippling the economy and that is why investors are scared to invest. We want a safer Jamaica for all Jamaicans and visitors alike.

I am, etc.,
