BCJ clarifies Flow position

The Editor, Sir:

The Financial Gleaner's article of August 28, 'Flow's pace slows: But Broadcasting Commission okay with network delay', conveyed the impression that the Broadcasting Commission was unconcerned and treated lightly the delays that its licensee, Flow, is experiencing.

The article incorrectly states that the commission "has no problems with the delay", a position that was never communicated to the writer of the article. The commission would be concerned about a situation that could potentially breach the terms of Flow's licence. We are, however, satisfied that the licensee has provided us with the required notification of delay and updates on its progress.

I am, etc.,

KARLENE JOHNSON

Assistant Executive Director

Broadcasting Commission

EDITOR'S NOTE: The article correctly quoted the Broadcasting Commission as saying it was provided with Quarterly Monitoring Reports by Flow and knew of the delays.
