Quirky and eccentric, Gianna perhaps missed her second calling as a comedian but is resolute in fulfilling her first calling to be a model. The beauty said she was absolutely delighted when Pulse decided to branch into full-figure modelling.

"I've been hoping for something like this because I love fashion and I've always wanted to be on the runway. This is absolutely perfect," she says.

She spends her leisure time catching up on current affairs and has a special interest in environmental issues. She adores fashion from international style master Alexander McQueen and smiles widely when asked who should take top honours in the inaugural competition, "Hello! Have you seen me? I'm absolutely fabulous and I'm taking the title with me!"

"If you want something really bad, you won't stop until you get it," says full-figure contestant Keisha Lopez. Born and raised in the Cayman Islands, the aspiring model made the journey to Kingston after seeing a Facebook notice of the full-figure competition.

"I was waiting for something like this and I saw it as the perfect opportunity! You don't see many full-figured models on the runway so I had to jump at the chance. Right away I got on a plane to Jamaica and made my way to Pulse for the audition," Lopez said.

The Insurance representative said she was further inspired to sign up based on the encouraging words of family and friends. "My friends and family members all support me and they know how much I want to do this. This competition will definitely heighten the confidence of full-figured women in the Caribbean and I'm looking forward to the show."

Whether its behind the camera or in front of the lens, Janelle Guthrie is intent on having her moment in the spotlight. Although on first impression the beauty might seem reserved, she proves to be anything but so in rehearsals and looks forward to being onstage in the first ever CMS full-figure competition.

"This plus-size division should be new and exciting because Jamaican women are very curvaceous and it's time the industry made some way for the thicker ladies," she said with a smile.

A bookworm by nature but a model by birth, the 27-year-old bank clerk said her involvement in the CMS competition has been very fulfilling. "I was so happy that Pulse decided to branch into full-figure modelling and show off some curves. The grooming and the rehearsals have been great and I'm happy that I decided to go out for it," said Nicholle.

In her leisure time, Nicholle enjoys baking, shopping and travelling.
