FOR THE second time in as many days, the public service has been rocked by the departure of a senior member.

Robert Gregory, president of Jamaica Trade and Invest (JTI), is on his way out of the public service.

"There have been discussions taking place but ultimately, it is the board that will make the decision," said Karl Samuda, the minister of investment, industry and commerce under whose portfolio the JTI falls.

It was not clear up to press time why Gregory was being shown the door.

Meanwhile, government sources have said Sancia Bennett Templer, a former deputy director of tourism, is being eyed as Gregory's replacement.

Current post

Bennett Templer is currently the chief executive officer of the National Planning Summit monitoring unit in the Office of the Prime Minister.

On Thursday, Marcia Forbes, permanent secretary in the Ministry of Mining and Energy, resigned her post.

Last week, another public servant - Sharon Crooks - left the public service after she was shuffled out of her post as financial secretary.
