After tasting the new Red Stripe Bold, these are the comments from the 'beer drinkers'
It's an improvement over Red Stripe Light but, not quite the standard of the good 'ole' Red Stripe Beer. As a beer lover and I dare say 'connoisseur' of the brewed product, it's a beverage I would imbibe at a function or during hang-out time. I am predicting that Red Stripe Bold will take off!
Give me my Red Stripe Beer any day. The best thing about Bold is the easy-to-hold bottle. It is in no way as smooth as Red Stripe, perhaps I will acquire the taste some day. It is something I would drink when I am thirsty but naturally it would come third on the list of beers I would purchase: Red Stripe, Heineken, and Bold.
The taste is not as smooth as the original. Has a little bitter after taste. The Bold is really light on the tongue and it also slides down smoothly. There is also this lonely feeling that it could be a very good companion to something salty.
It has a richer, crisper taste. It's stronger than the regular Red Stripe so I would probably stick to the regular for now until I become more experienced at drinking.
It is absolutely refreshing. It is a great middle ground between Red Stripe Beer (that I find too harsh) and Red Stripe Light (that I find weak).
Where has this beer been all along? It is now my favourite.
The Red Stripe Bold has a harsh, bitter taste and not bitter in a good way.
It has a 'heavier' taste than its regular counterpart that I don't necessarily like. It does go down somewhat smoothly but cannot compare with the Red Stripe Light in that category.
A smooth beer with a good kick but reminds me too much of some of those American beers. It does not have the unique Red Stripe taste.
I think the original is still the best.
The bottle is easy on the hands.
