Bradley Stewart, assistant coach of Jamaica's Reggae Boyz, said that the strikers would need to improve their finishing, following their 1-0 victory over St Kitts and Nevis on Sunday at the Warner Park Stadium.

"I think that we need to work hard at our finishing because we need to work with our strikers to ensure that they score a high percentage of their goals," he said.

Striker Devon Hodges scored the lone goal for the Reggae Boyz in the 55th minute.

General performance

The Theodore 'Tappa' Whitmore-coached team played to a 0-0 draw with Ecuador in a friendly international last week Wednesday at the Giants Stadium in New Jersey.

Stewart, though, expressed satisfaction with the team's general performance.

"We are happy with the effort of the players because we dominated the game from start to finish, even though we created a lot of opportunities and we were only able to score one goal.

"I think that there are some quality players in this group that have done well at the Premier League level. I am sure that a lot of them are ambitious and would want to feel that they must have a good opportunity to make it to the next level," said Stewart, who is the coach of Premier League side Rivoli United.

Rebuilding exercise

Stewart added that the match was part of their rebuilding exercise and they would be looking to recruit a number of other local players for other friendly matches.

"I think that we are going to be on a continuous basis of trying to continue to see much more of the local-based talent in squads like these whenever we get the opportunity to play practice games. We think that local-based players will be able to do well," Stewart said.
