The Ministry of Education yesterday informed parents and guardians that they should report to the schools their children currently attend for the examination results.
placement
The GNAT is used to determine the placement of students from junior high and all-age schools into high schools.
Of the 11,500 students who sat the examination, 204 will go through a remedial programme at the Jamaica Foundation for Lifelong Learning (JFLL), while the others will be placed in public and private high schools.
At a press conference last Tuesday, Education Minister Andrew Holness said the results were late this year, as his ministry faced challenges in finding places for students.
private schools
He said the ministry was partnering with several private schools to have students placed in those institutions, while some would continue their education at the JFLL.
Minister Holness said the only solution to the space problem is to build more schools, as he opposed to suggestions to place some schools on shifts.
