Eight-year-old Joshua Sirgany took the podium at the Homestead Go-Kart Meet, in Miami last weekend.

And, although the Jamaican did not cross the line first, his second-place finish in the Micro Max class left no doubt as to who this little Jamaica boy was.

"There was a buzz in the paddock area about this little boy from Jamaica and everyone was surprised to know this was his second time racing out of Jamaica," his father Ricky said.

His father explained that rivals were impressed with his performance and how quickly he got up to speed.

In the qualifying session last Sunday, he finished fourth from a field of 12.
