At the start of each academic year the Northern Caribbean University faculty and staff come together in what vice-president for university relations, Yvonne Bignall, describes as "an opportunity for intellectual stimulation for the entire university community and an occasion to contemplate some of the broad themes that will drive the university's operations during the ensuing academic year".
renew commitment
Last year, Colloquium brought NCU academicians and administrative staff together, under the theme, 'NCU 101 - Going Back to Basics', where the university community gathered to rethink the way forward and renew their commitment to the creator and to its primary customers, the students and their family and friends. The 2009 Colloquium is being held under the theme: 'Thinking creatively ... acting deliberately ... in these challenging times,' and will run from Sunday, August 16 to Tuesday, August 18.
The first day of this three-day affair is specifically designed for managers and sector leaders, while the Monday and Tuesday sessions will cater to the entire university workforce.
