Jamaica-India Foundation launched

Based on a vision of intercultural and educational exposure and exchange, coupled with sporting and commercial opportunities, the Jamaica-India Foundation was recently launched at the offices of its first president, businessman K.S. 'Kenny' Benjamin, at 107 Old Hope Road, St Andrew.

The other members of the executive committee are: Jean Lowrie-Chin - vice-president, Gunjan Mansingh - treasurer, Aditi Dhiman - secretary, and ex officio member, the president of Cuba India - Julie Ramchandani.

It is further proposed to have a chapter to cover the area of Montego Bay and Ocho Rios, and a chapter president will be appointed to cover these areas and rotate between Ocho Rios and Montego Bay.

Pluralistic and inclusive

The foundation's vision is to promote, project and publicise various stands of composite Indian ethos, thought, culture, pluralistic and inclusive way of life and to join hands with all like-minded stakeholders to promote friendship, understanding and fraternity among all.
