The Ocho Rios Primary School graduation ceremony could just as well have been renamed The Gaerielle Malcolm Awards Show.
The brilliant girl captured 14 out of the 27 awards up for grabs, including those for highest academic average, highest GSAT average, maths, language arts, science, social studies, first place, and student of the year.
Hundreds of parents and well-wishers turned out at the nearby Ocho Rios High School, the venue for the ceremony on July 1 to support the more-than-300 students who graduated.
Guest speaker Dr Hixwell Douglas used his own life story - of surmountable difficulty - as a template of inspiration for the students to work hard and achieve their goals.
"We have to teach them the value of determination," Douglas urged parents.
