13 vie for Miss Jamaica Western title

Thirteen women will vie for the Miss Jamaica World Western title on Saturday at the Golf View Hotel in Mandeville.

The competition, which had its inception in 1992, was formerly known as the Miss Jamaica World Middlesex Beauty Pageant. In 2003, the pageant was renamed Miss Jamaica World Western Beauty Pageant.

The pageant assists and promotes the growth and development of the contestants' skills relating to self-esteem, confidence, poise, speech and diction.

The winner will be selected to represent the region at the Miss Jamaica World eliminations in Kingston on July 18.
