Reggae Day honour for Copeland Forbes

Artiste/tour manager Copeland Forbes was honoured on reggae day, July 1, as part of the International Reggae Day Festival alongside the media, who were invited to salute Island Records 50th Anniversary. Always entertaining, Copeland offered rare insights into the history of Jamaica's international cultural legacy from a Jamaican at the head of the live music movement. Considered reggae music's most accomplished tour manager, Copeland Forbes has the unique distinction of being present at some of Jamaican music's most significant moments, including the groundbreaking Peter Tosh tour with the Rolling Stones in 1977-78, Jimmy Cliff's historic concert in apartheid South Africa in 1980 and Black Uhuru's soldout tour with the Police in 1982-83.

Usher-ed out by surprise

Usher's estranged wife had no idea he planned to divorce her. Tameka Foster - who has two children, 18 month-old Usher V and seven month-old Naviyd Ely, with the R&B star - was shocked by his decision to leave her, because they were "intimately together" just days before he started legal proceedings last month. E! News reported: "Usher's soon to be ex-wife states in a new court filing that she and the R&B star have not been separated since July 2008 and, in fact, were 'intimately together' less than a week before he started divorce proceedings." Legal documents filed in an Atlanta court by Tameka's attorney claim, she had "every reason to believe her marriage was intact". Usher's estranged spouse now reportedly wants him to pay all of her legal fees surrounding their divorce and to continue to financially support her and their sons once the split has been finalised.
