WESTERN BUREAU:

Nigeria-based agricultural group Eyumojock Farmers' Cooperative will be one of 90 exhibitors at the 13th staging of the Montego Bay Chamber of Commerce Technology Expo from June 26-28.

The group will be seeking to forge an alliance with Jamaica-based agricultural businesses aimed at achieving mutual benefits for both countries, as well as exploring the use of technology in agriculture.

"The agricultural group is hoping to establish linkages between Jamaica and Nigeria and will also be seizing the opportunity to find business partners in Jamaica," said Pauline Reid, managing director of Corporate Connections, the event organisers.

Reid confirmed Monday that the expo was sold out. She said the Montego Bay Chamber of Commerce had introduced a concept geared at giving small and micro businesses an opportunity to showcase their goods and services. Florida-based realtor Phenion on the Ridge will also be unveiling its plans for a major residential development in Jamaica.

The expo activities will include a book fair, speakers' forum and classic car show.
