BACOLET, Tobago (AP):
Celso Borges scored twice, including the winner in the 68th minute, to lift Costa Rica to a 3-2 victory over Trinidad and Tobago in a World Cup qualifier yesterday.
The victory keeps Costa Rica on top of the six-team qualifying group from North and Central America and the Caribbean.
Costa Rica have 12 points in five matches. Trinidad and Tobago have only two and are almost certain not to qualify for South Africa 2010.
The top three teams from the region advance automatically to next year's World Cup. The No. 4 team faces a play-off with the No. 5 from South America for another berth.
