Bloody Tuesday
Published: Friday | March 27, 2009
As a resident of Red Hills, I can't help but say March 24 was Bloody Tuesday. They spilled blood at 3 a.m. at Cyprus Drive at the top of Red Hills and the gas station at the foot of the hill.
By 3 p.m. they had struck again! To be frank, I am weakened by this crime scourge. But we can't give up. Marley's near pessimism seems to be overwhelming me at times when he said: "Aint no use; no one can stop them now. It seems like total destruction the only solution."
The Jenierres, a young couple, parents of a six and nine-year-old, have left their own parents, still alive, to mourn. The cowards have made orphans of the young and taken the life their mother. A trail of blood now remains in the sanctuary of my neighbours.
I pray that God will give comfort to all those who mourn the loss of the seven murdered in 15 hours on Bloody Tuesday.
I am, etc.,
