Horn-blowing NTCS drivers

Published: Saturday | February 7, 2009

The Editor, Sir:

I would like to bring to the attention of the management of the National Transport Co-operative Services (NTCS) bus company the continued nuisance being plagued in the Portmore community, especially Greater Portmore, by those buses which ply the Half-Way Tree and downtown Kingston route to Greater Portmore.

Since the latter part of last year, the community has been bombarded with about five of these NTCS buses with horns sounding like trucks.

These particular drivers have no conscience whatsoever, as you can hear them approaching for more than a kilometre away, blowing their horns continuously.

These 'truck horns' that have been fitted into these buses are very loud and are quite annoying, as these drivers blow them without restraint.

I am asking that the management of the bus company quickly address this issue and take the necessary steps to have these horns removed from these buses and fitted with the correct ones.

I am, etc
