Issue: How about public hanging as a tourist attraction?
published: Saturday | November 29, 2008

Some years ago, I wrote about having public hangings.

I envisioned them being held at the National Stadium and tickets sold at the same price as for local matches.

  • There could be a dance held afterwards.

  • We could hold hangings once a week and there could be a lottery for guest hangman.

  • Tourists would come from all over the world to see this. After all, it's an attraction not offered anywhere else.

  • Think of all the spin-offs - from the T-shirts to the hanged doll, videos to postcards.

There's no sense in letting this wonderful financial opportunity slip through our hands. Over to you, Jamaica Tourist Board.
