Want to capture action, without blurred pictures? The new Sony Cybershot H50 comes with a Carl Zeiss 15x optical zoom lens and a Super SteadyShot optical image stabilisation.
This professional-series camera takes sharp, high-contrast images and reduces colour fringing.
Catch all the action on a 3-inch tilting, scratch-resistant, UV hard-coat finish LCD screen, which enables you to shoot from high or low angles.
If you are a sports buff, the 'advanced sports' shooting mode has a system to apply higher shutter speeds (up to 1/4000 of a second)
Fast-moving subjects
This mode combines high shutter speeds with predictive continuous auto-focusing so you can quickly focus and capture fast-moving subjects with minimal shutter lag - basically the time it takes for the camera to focus and shoot.
The H-50 has in-camera editing functions, which cut down on the time you spend on the computer.
Equipped with Sony's new Dynamic Range Optimiser, originally developed for the Alpha digital SLR system, the new camera can analyse captured image data and determine the best exposure for each picture before JPEG compression.
Variable Noise Reduction (NR Level Setting)
To allow greater control over NR, three NR Level Settings are available — High, Low and Standard, allowing you to select the optimal setting depending on the scene and individual tastes. For example, applying high NR helps obtain smoothly textured images for portraits or dark scenes, while the low setting helps reduce noise without sacrificing resolution, making it especially useful for landscapes, detailed subjects, and contoured surfaces.
The camera also comes with a patented Nightshot technology, to shoot in low light. If you are not in the mood to put the camera on a timer and run for a group picture, the H 50 comes with a remote control unit that you can use with both shooting and play modes, for basic camera functions - including zoom, menu settings, etc - so you can put yourself in the picture when shooting with a tripod or sit back and enjoy the show when you share images on your home TV screen.
The camera comes with an inbuilt 15MB memory, which can be expanded further with an optional Memory Stick Duo or Memory Stick PRO Duo card. A high-speed USB 2.0 port provides connectivity with Windows and Mac computers for fast transfers of images and movies. You can make high-quality prints by simply connecting the camera to any PictBridge compatible photo printer.
