Pulse's Hector Lincoln gets fashion
published: Sunday | November 2, 2008

Pulse supermodel and actor, Hector Lincoln, is the toast of this month's Vibe magazine, showing off the latest trends from the Sean John exclusive collection.

Hector was selected to front the new campaign by the multifaceted mogul himself, Sean 'P.Diddy' Coombs. A study in sartorial elegance, Lincoln shows off tailored suits from the designer's newest and arguably his best collection to date.

This marks Hector's second appearance this season for the label, as he played the leading man on the runway for the Sean John collection at New York Fashion Week (NYFW) earlier this year.

Ambitious

After a five-year hiatus from the catwalk, P. Diddy returned to NYFW this season to commemorate his empire's 10th anniversary. Ambitious to make major fashion and social statements with his namesake label, the designer was keen to reinvent his look. The collection was a clear deviation from the usual laid-back outfits the popular line produces. However, the signature Sean John panache was still at the core.

Lincoln said, "Sean Combs informed everyone ahead of the show that he was thinking out of the box and evolving not only as a person, but as a designer. His collection was themed to tell the story of a young prince in or from Harlem in a not too distant future who discovers himself through love and war as he ascends to be a great leader."

Short film

As part of the renaissance of the label Sean also made a film about the collection which aired on MTV. Entitled If I Were King. The short feature, which saw Hector up front and centre, chronicles the preparations leading up to the collection's show at NYFW.

After a successful show at NYFW, popular urban lifestyle publication, Vibe magazine grabbed the opportunity to feature the stylish collection in the October issue and again Hector was at the helm.

"It was a pleasure to work with the Vibe and the Sean John teams, as this was a natural extension of our collaboration during the shows, the atmosphere was relaxed on the set," noted Lincoln.

A collection befitting the 'polished man' because of its precise tailoring and sophistication in silhouette and fabric, Memsor Kamarake, fashion director at Vibe channeled the vintage era, using a circa 1800s' landmark house in the Bronx, NY, as the location for the shoot.

Kamarake highlights Hector's chiselled six-foot frame in a Bordeaux red aniline leather jacket with a red fox collar, black tie and pin-tucked wool pants expertly captured by Kevin Amato, who also does photo duties for the Prada label.

Popular

A graduate of New York's prestigious Actor's Institute, Hector has appeared in popular television series' including Law & Order: Criminal Intent, Hope and Faith and Third Watch. His feature film credits include Freedom Land, 50 Cent's biopic Get Rich or Die Tryin', Treasure Island, What Happens In Vegas and The Devil Wears Prada.
