Dragon City has been around since 1989 but, since The Gleaner-sponsored Kingston Restaurant Week (KRW) began in 2005, this is its first year participating in the popular food event.

Frank Luo, who owns the restaurant with Pak Chung Lai, said they decided to participate this year to gain exposure.

"KRW has been successful, over the years, and we want to be a part of that success. We want to show people what we have to offer," said Luo.

He also noted that he wants more people to know about Dragon City and to know that they are the best Chinese restaurant in Jamaica. Plus, gain new customers.

"Many people, at first, did not know about us but when they discovered us and our food, they say it is the best Chinese food they have ever had."

The restaurant specialises in Cantonese Chinese cuisine and has 200 dishes on their menu. Among customer favourites are: Roasted duck, Lohan tofu, steam fish in garlic sauce, squid Cantonese style, Chinese vegetables and crispy chicken.

Luo said the restaurant seats 120 people. They also have a take-out section that is quite popular.

He said staff is like family at Dragon City, so when you dine there, you will feel right at home. He said the restaurant's waiters/ waitresses are friendly and courteous.

Luo notes that after KRW they want Dragon City to be on everyone's lips.
