Coach Jeffrey Hewitt says: Having lost a number of players from last year's team, we are now rebuilding for the future. However, we still have quality players and we are quite optimistic going into this season.Preparations: Extremely good, the team won the Links FM 96 20/20 tournament and a preseason tournament in Clarendon.

GLENMUIR HIGH
John-Ross Doyley
Position last season: Beaten finalists (lost to Garvey Maceo in the final).
Number of players retained: Just over 70 per cent of last year's squad.
New players to watch: The four players who are slated to join the school as sixth formers.
Returning players to watch: Ricardo Webb, John-Ross Doyley and Marvin Booth.
Zone: Zone I alongside Central, Garvey Maceo, Kemps Hill, Old Harbour and Tacius Golding.
Coach Jackie Walters says: Our plan is to go all the way this year and we are looking forward to doing just that. We know what is required of us and we are planning to take on this challenge head-on.Preparations: The team's preparation has been quite good with mostly positive results from numerous practice games against quality oppositions.

RUSEA'S

Michael Allen
Position last season: Semi-finals (lost 2-0 to the eventual champions Garvey Maceo)
Number of players retained: The majority of the squad including five from the starting 11.
New players to watch: Clinton Clarke, Ronaldo Kerr and Tremaine Perry.
Returning players to watch: Damain Thompson, Radclliffe Jarrett, Godfrey Cunningham, Roydel Moncrieffe and Worrick Pinnock.
Zone: Zone B alongside Anchovy, Frome, Green Island, Hopewell High, Knockalva and Merlene Ottey.
Coach Anthony 'Follies' Williams says: Our first goal is to qualify for the inter- zone round because we have some strong teams in our group. However, once we get out of the zone, the sky is the limit for this team.Preparations: Quite positive, especially in the Linkz 96 FM 20/20 tournament where the team lost on penalties in the semi-finals.

CORNWALL COLLEGE

Worrick Pinnock
Position last season: Semi-finals (lost to beaten finalists Glenmuir).Number of players retained: 80 per cent of last year's squad.
Returning players to watch: Michael Allen, Mark Cunningham, Sean Afflick. Top striker Jason King is injured and is doubtful for the season.Zone: Zone A alongside Green Pond, Herbert Morrison, Spot Valley, Irwin, Maldon and St James High.
Coach Dean Weatherley says: This team is quite balanced and well prepared and once the players maintain their discipline and stay focussed I am expecting them to go all the way to the final.Preparations: The team has been doing quite well in practice games although it disappointed in the Links FM 20/20 tournament as it failed to advance past the first round. History: The most successful team in daCosta Cup history with 11 titles.
MUNRO COLLEGE

Hopeton Gilchrist
Position last season: Quarter-final round (lost only one game during the season).Number of players retained: Seven players from last year's squad.
New players to watch: Chris Wint (who transferred to the school in 2006 and sat out last year).Returning players to watch: Chris-Wayne Wallace and Dayton Stewart.Zone: Zone E alongside BB Coke, Balaclava, Black River, Lacovia, Maggotty and St. Elizabeth Technical.
Coach Hopeton Gilchrist says: We will be taking it stage by stage but our first priority is to advance from the zone and we are cautiously optimistic about doing that.
Preparations: Preparations were affected by Tropical Storm Gustav but, prior to that, were good. The team made the quarter-finals of the Links FM 96 20/20 tournament.
