SPY CAM: GET CAUGHT!
published: Saturday | September 13, 2008

Your moment with the top five contestants of the Digicel Rising Stars competition.

KAHLIL

Saturday Life: Who do you think is your major competition?

Kahlil: I think everyone is. They're all great singers.

What do you think of the talent on the show?

Kahlil: Everyone there is bringing it. I find it interesting to work with such talented people. It boosts us to put in more work on our performance.

Who is your favourite Rising Stars winner of all time?

Kahlil: Christopher Martin.

Which Rising Stars past contestant/winner would you not want to compete against?

Kahlil: Hmmm ... I'd never back down from a challenge.

K'ALEE

SL: Who do you think is your major competition?

K'Alee: Never really thought about it but, if anything, I would say Kahlil.

What do you think of the talent on the show?

It's not like the other years but it's OK, everyone has strong points.

Who is your favourite Rising Stars winner of all time?

My favourite Rising Stars are One Third and Chris Martin.

Do you think there can be a female winner of Rising Stars this year?

Yes, I do.

How has the show impacted on your life?

Wow, for one, I've learnt a lot of stuff, and I've learnt to be a lot more patient 'cause I wasn't very patient before.

Which entertainer, local or international would you most like to work with?

I would say Christina Aguilera.

CAMEAL DAVIS

SL: What do you think of the talent on the show?

Cameal: It's a variety, everybody has their own style and flavour.

What do you like most about the competition?

I like the fact that young people are getting a chance to expose their talents.

Do you think there can be a female winner of Rising Stars this year?

Yes, because I expect to be the winner.

Is Rising Stars judge Anthony Miller as mean as people think he is?

Actually no, Anthony is my favourite judge even before I entered this competition. I say this because every competition needs a judge like him. Yes, he's harsh but it motivates you to do better.

SLR

SL: Who is your favourite Rising Stars winner of all time?

Annashare Blake: Chris (Martin), because he has left 'Rising Stars' and created his own star profile.

Which Rising Stars past contestant would you not want to compete against?

Wow, Suzanne Perkins ... she was one of the weaker contestants, and our group only strives from strong contest. A true star only shines when it gets though.

What do you like most about the competition?

The challenges, because it helps me to move at a faster pace in everything I do.

How has the show impacted on your life?

It has a strong impact so far, I see myself being more punctual, more polite. I've learned the values of preparation and that comes with everything.

Which entertainer, local or international, you would like to work with?

Celine Dion; she's really strong and she has values that I desire.

LASHANA

SL: Who is your favourite Rising Stars winner of all time?

Lashana: Noddy Virtue, because he is so different, but so great and he sings with feelings, so I can relate.

Who do you think is your major competition?

Kahlil, I think they are really tight. They have come to win, even though I have come to win too.

Which Rising Stars past contestant/winner would you want to compete against?

I would like to compete against Daynea Deacon. I wouldn't want to compete against any of the men because the Jamaican people have a thing for Jamaican men. They like to vote for the men. Women are less competitive.
