Deputy Managing director of the RJR Communications Group, Gary Allen, has been appointed managing director of the group effective October.

Allen will take over the reigns from Lester Spaulding who will be retiring after 30 years in that post.

Allen has risen through the ranks, from radio reporter/producer, to the helm at RJR.

Spaulding, however, will continue to serve the group as chairman with executive responsibility for specific strategic special projects.

RJR is one of the nation's longest-established and most-respected media group. The group includes Television Jamaica, RJR 94 FM, FAME FM, HITZ 92 FM, and cable television stations JNN, RE TV and TVJ Sports.
