THE EDITOR, Sir:
Whatever happened to our national anthem: "Eternal Father bless our land, guard us with Thy mighty hand, keep us free from evil powers, be our light through countless hours, to our leaders, great defenders, grant true wisdom from above, justice, truth be ours forever, Jamaica land we love. Jamaica, Jamaica, Jamaica land we love.
"Teach us true respect for all, stir response to duty's call, strengthen us the weak to cherish, give us vision lest we perish. Knowledge send us Heavenly Father, grant true wisdom from above justice, truth be ours forever, Jamaica land we love. Jamaica, Jamaica, Jamaica land we Love".
What happened to pledge?
Whatever happened to our national pledge, the promise we made to God to stand up for justice, brotherhood and peace.
Whatever happened to the pledge we made to God for the schools to work diligently, and to help build a prosperous and peaceful nation.
I say Jamaica should take up the banners of pledges, and hold them high with pride and confidence, and stand up facing the enemies knowing that God is backing us and with faith go forth.
We must fight together in order to win together.
Enough is enough!
Remember, fight for what you have a passion for, because no struggles, no progress. Enough is enough!! You are guarded with God's mighty hand, you are free from evil powers, you are leaders and great defenders, you have true wisdom from above, so use it. You are on duty, you are strong, you have vision, you were sent heavenly knowledge, and wisdom from above were given to you.
Remember, Jamaica has come a long way, that's why we sing, Jamaica land we love!
Stand up, Jamaica, and hold your banners and pledges up HIGH!
I am, etc.,
