Thank you, four angels of MoBay
published: Saturday | June 21, 2008

The Editor, Sir:

Brand Jamaica, as a culture of 'No Problem', music, weed, sex and freedom to the thrill seekers is a lie!

I have a dream for Brand Jamaica to be promoted as 'Blessed Land', filled with people who welcome our visitors with love and care. A place of healing for broken hearts, crushed lives, a place to be mended, through the experience of our people and the gifts of the land.

God bless the immigration officer, who worked on Friday, May 3; port patrol officer, Kenardo, port patrol supervisor Delta Shippey and taxi operator, Bryan, all of Montego Bay.

Through you, my nephew's life was spared from the ravages of the dark side of Jamaica.

Blessed Jamaican people would you believe that four angels watched over my nephew from he landed into this country, to seeing him safely to his family. I even received a check-up call after that long night of Friday, May 3.

Selfless act

You see, Brand Jamaica was sold to this young Canadian and his mind absorbed that vicious lie.

First, immigration officer, Angel of God, you called me when you saw this young Canadian man, seeming to be heading nowhere.

Second, port patrol officer, Angel of God, you called me when you saw this young man potentially falling prey to our street vagrants.

Third, port patrol supervisor, Angel of God, you took over and made him feel safe until he could be rescued from the streets.

Fourth, taxi operator, Angel of God, at 10 p.m. just returning to your home from a hard day's work, you agreed to transport this young man all the way from Montego Bay to Kingston. You did not know Kingston, both ways you experienced delays and hence spent about eight hours on the road to see him safely home with his family.

Blessed land

Throughout this time, all angels were calling with "credit running out" and all.

God bless you all and I thank you for your unselfish gift of love. May God bless you and your families abundantly. May the peace of God fill your hearts and I pray that you will draw closer to God as He draws closer to you.

You are the ones, who make Jamaica sweet for that promise of 'Blessed Land'. I give thanks to you all.

I am, etc.,
