The Jamaica Public Service Co. Ltd. is keeping a "Science & Technology Expo". Of all companies, this one dares teach something about technology. With all these daily power-cuts and power-surges! The new owner from Japan is as bad as the former one from the United States of America. Why does the Government not change the rules and regulations for this company?
How many factories, workshops and business owners suffer from the JPS' inability to guarantee a steady stream of current? How many owners of computers suffer the constant blackening of the monitors? How much money is lost because the light and power company is too mean to spend money to improve its system or too stupid to provide a reliable supply of electricity?
Answer: The JPS has no competition and can do as it wants. The citizens have to pay. Whenever a power-surge destroys appliances, not even the Office of Utilities Regulation is willing and able to help JPS customers to be compensated. How long should Jamaicans take this disrespect? For each instance of loss of appliances, and working hours, the JPS should pay! This would be the only solution for its victims. Us!

Misguided project
I am a middle-aged professional as well as a Pastor. I have passed through high school right up to university. I have been a public speaker for the past two years. This is not said to boast but to try to give you an appreciation of my experience and training. Having said this, with all my training and exposure, (and here I am certain that I am speaking on behalf of a vast majority of Jamaicans) I cannot read nor write Patois.
Can you imagine the bulk of Jamaicans, like myself, and, worse, those who cannot read nor write English, with its form and peculiarities, trying to read a Bible written in Patois. I believe that the project, though novel, is totally misguided and unnecessary.
By the way, you will realise that only three million of us speak patois, ok add the other three million in the diaspora. Is this the group you want to rescue, and from what?
