Monymusk lead rivals by seven points
published: Sunday | April 6, 2008

Dwight Nelson, Freelance Reporter

After 15 rounds of the Clarendon FA/Captain's Bakery-sponsored Major League competition, the intensity remains high as mid-season champions Monymusk, on 42 points, have opened up a seven-point lead over their closest rivals, Gayle.

In their match against Ebony Stars on Thursday, Monymusk - through brave efforts from ace striker Andre Isaacs in the 42nd minute and Michael Dixon in the 73rd, scored their 13th win of the season, 2-0 over their opponents who are ninth on 16 points.

Gayle maintained second on 34 points after getting the better of Mitchell Town 1-0, a result which cemented the disappointing Mitchell Town in the relegation zone along with Humble Lions' Under-21 and New Longsville who are locked on eight points at the bottom of the table.

Since the mid-season final, beaten finalists Woodhall have only managed to carve out one win and have lost three games, but they are in third position behind Monymusk and Gayle.
