published: Saturday | March 22, 2008

A district constable attached to the Green Island Police Station in Hanover was arrested for breaching the Larceny Act in Cauldwell district in the parish this week.

Charged with simple larceny is 26-year-old Franz Gordon.

Reports from the Constab-ulary Communication Network's liaison officer for Hanover are that about 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, Gordon was a member of a police team that responded to a report of house-breaking in the community.

Alarm made

It is alleged that while the scene was being processed, Gordon took $10,000 from a room in the house. An alarm was made and he was subsequently arrested and charged.

Gordon appeared in the Lucea Resident Magistrate's Court on Thursday and was granted bail in the sum of $40,000 to return on April 11.
