It does not take a great stretch of the imagination or intellect to figure out that the members of the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) will be extremely concerned about Commissioner Hardley Lewin's order that the policy governing the employment of off-duty policemen be reviewed immediately.

Clerical views on expletives
The Editor, Sir: Bishop Herro Blair, castigating the Government on his radio programme, declares trenchantly that the JLP-led administration should "shape up or ship out". But for what reason? Corruption? No. Mismanagement of the economy? No. High levels of crime and violence? No. Stupidity? Yes.
Issue: 'No' to brute force and ignorance
I am in total agreement with the commissioner of police in his mission to eliminate from the minds of law enforcement agents the thought that having bigger and more powerful guns is the solution to crime.
