Hasty decision?
1. Was someone in a rush to make a political point or what? How else do you explain the rush to action, ahead of any ruling by the office of the DPP? Keep your eyes on the bigger electoral picture, and potential future happenings, we are being told!
A parting of ways
2.The negative stories now appearing elsewhere just serve to confirm that the one-time partners have definitely fallen out, and the stories now appearing are part and parcel of the hatchet job as the battle for turf now heats up as new regulations set in.
In a rut
3.Seems like the rush to fire the former members of the PSC has brought some aspects of the business of governance to little more than a standstill. The consensus is that no thoughts were given to the ramifications the actions would have had on the smooth flow of managing the people's business.
Shooting the messenger
4.When the relevant minister was noticeably absent from a high-profile function recently, not all in attendance were happy with the apologies tendered or the underling who brought the official greetings.
He who is without sin
5.They have a nerve with their unending campaign, seeking to call some people corrupt! Have they looked in their own boardroom, oops, mirror, we meant mirror, lately? Now, what was that scriptural admonition about that business of a beam in your eye, again?
Financial genius
6.If someone can explain how some of these employees, with their lowly jobs, not only drive some of the most expensive autos, but also sport gold Rolex wristwatches, then they should be commended for their financial wizardry instead of being maligned by members of the public who insist they are constantly being asked to "let-off" for services that are supposedly free. It is so bad they say that at one location the touts walked up to the counter, ignoring the long line, and were immediately taken care of.
Keeping it in the family
7.Seems the key functionaries in many of the old offices and departments are being replaced by families and relatives of the new bosses. Wives, sisters and cousins are emerging as the new secretarial posse and personal assistants. With that, the buzzword for some, and buzz kill for others is - nepotism.
So much work, so little time
8.If she is over the retirement age, then why was she hired?
Voting for jobs
9.The more things change. Some are questioning the political bona fides of some of those seeking employment, before they are even considered for employment. At least one applicant for a high-profile placement was asked for whom did he vote, in the last general election and, when he pointed out that he was not a resident here during that time, was then asked for whom did his parents vote? He, of course, being from the proper background, not only declined to answer but also asked that his application be given no further consideration.
