Woodhall, Monymusk hunt title
published: Saturday | March 1, 2008

Clarendon:

The mid-season final of the Captain's Bakery-sponsored Clarendon Major League between Monymusk and Woodhall takes centrestage at Brancourt today, starting at 3:00 p.m.

This game promises to be tight as both teams had earlier played to a 0-0 result. They are also unbeaten but the Monymusk team has drawn two games and are sole leaders in the competition on 29 points. Woodhall have drawn three and are second position with 27 after 11 rounds of games.

Hard work needed

Monymusk will be depending on the very hard-working Michael Dixon to marshall the midfield area and hope top striker Franklyn Johnson has a field day scoring.

Woodhall, which have only conceded three goals, will be depending mainly on Dorrick Rhoden, who is expected to be the brick wall in defence.

Coach of Woodhall, Christopher Wellington, said: "I am quite confident and I know that we have the potential to win this game. In our earlier encounter when we drew 0-0, we did not have a full-strength team because five of our key players were out on suspension. So with a full-strength team going into the final, we will take this game."

Monymusk coach, Lemmard Lewis, said: "I feel quite confident and the team is in high gear, so I am expecting a win."
