The Editor, Sir:Students in high schools are exposed to sexual behaviour no matter what we do, whether parents, teachers, peers and guidance counsellors are talking about it. Some of the students are not listening so, therefore, they go about doing their sexual acts not realising that condoms are important in preventing sexually transmitted diseases and unwanted pregnancies. But what I realise in most young adults (students) is that they act fist then think afterwards. That's why so many are getting infected.
We need to start issuing condoms in schools for the students' safety. We are not giving them any license to practise because many of them are already practising unsafe sex. Our students are sometimes influenced by peers and other persons, so we still need to educate them about safe sex.
I am, etc.,
