Art-filled memories
The year 2007 has come to past, but, art-filled memories linger. It was a year of undeniable excitement for the lot and barrel of art aficionados. A significant number of Jamaicans reacquainted with their own passions, while others discovered their talent for art.

Competition winners!

As part of our special Tourism and Arts feature, during the last quarter of 2007, Sunday Arts ran a short competition. The winners selected are Melissa Lawrence (first place) from St. Ann and Sharon Hare from Kingston.

Renew your passion in '08!

Growing as a photographer takes passion, commitment and challenges. The availability of cellphones with cameras, along with Powershot, EasyShare, Coolpix, and CyberShot, and other digital cameras, everyone has now become a 'photographer'. But how many individuals want to go beyond just taking a snapshot?

Literary Arts - Anna's babies

The plaza clock points to 3:30. People move in and out of the shops. Children in uniform walk with big bags on their backs. They drag their feet. A postman rings the bell of his bicycle and rides away. Two policemen in shiny black shoes stand close to each other. Four young nurses giggle as they cross the street and cars stop for them.

The Wordsmith - Clearing the aisles

The Governor is the man. The qualifier of his office is that he is a governor 'general', not a governor for a part of the state, or a part of the operation, but a governor in general, hence 'governor-general'.
