Q. I am 19, female, and have just started going out with my first ever boyfriend. He is really handsome, and I think I love him. But there is one big problem. He seems to have obtained all his sexual knowledge from porn films. So he treats me like some sort of 'sex object'. What I mean, Doc, is that he is not interested in satisfying me at all. All he cares about is that he obtains the maximum pleasure for himself - especially from discharging. Also, he thinks it is OK to discharge anywhere on my body, including on my face or breasts. He does not even ask me whether it is OK to do this!
As a result, I have never climaxed with him. Indeed, so far the only times I have orgasmed have been on my own. When I am with him, he just expects me to lie there with my legs apart and let him penetrate me anywhere he wants to until he is ready to discharge in my eyes or on my nipples. What do you think, Doc? Are all men like this?
A. No, they are not. But unfortunately, we have now reached a time in history when a lot of younger guys get most of their 'sex education' from watching extremely rude videos or DVDs.
In these productions, the stories are usually pretty bizarre. The starring girls appear to get quite excited, but they very rarely show any indication of discharging. And nobody tries very hard to make them orgasm.
As for the 'heroes' of these blue movies, well ... they tend to discharge again and again, often producing large amounts of fluid.
When they climax, they usually do it on the girl's belly, breasts or face. This is called 'the money shot', because it is what the buyers of these porn movies are willing to pay for. Only very rarely do they ejaculate inside the vagina.
Sadly, a lot of young men watch this stuff - and then try to do the same thing in real life.
Some of them actually think that it is more normal to ejaculate on a girl's face than in her vagina!
Speaking of 'facials', I should warn you that it is NOT good for a girl to get a guy's sex fluid in her eyes. It can irritate the delicate membranes of the eyeball, and be quite painful. If it ever happens again, wash it out immediately with cool water.
So what are you to do now about your porn-educated boyfriend? Frankly, I think you should tell him that he has got completely the wrong notion about female sexuality and what young women want.
If he is unwilling to change his bedtime behaviour, I think you should move on - and find yourself a more sensible guy.
Q. Doc, I am 20 and I have to take a circumcision - because my foreskin is too tight. Will I ever be able to have sex again after the operation?A. Yes, of course, you will. You will be sore for a couple of weeks after the op, and you should NOT attempt any sex during this period. After that, you could resume with a little gentle masturbation, just to reassure yourself that all is well. Most surgeons tell patients that they can resume full sex within six weeks.
Q. Hello, Doc. I am female and about 5 feet 9 inches tall. But I weigh 270 pounds. My problem is, I've always had irregular periods. I started my menses at age 13 and I can't remember having a regular cycle since then. When I was 19, I even went a full 12 months without seeing any flow. I would like to get pregnant one day, but don't know if that is possible?A. I feel there is a high chance that you have something called polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS). That is a common condition in young women and its symptoms are infrequent menses, obesity, infertility, spots on the face and sometimes hairiness on the face. It is caused from little cysts (collections of fluid) in the ovaries.
Please see a doc who can arrange hormone tests and an ultrasound scan of your ovaries. If you do have PCOS, you can be given hormone treatment that will help you get pregnant.
Q. I am 21, male, and only 5 feet 5 inches i Do you think I will grow any taller now, Doc?A. That is a little unlikely, particularly if your father and mother are on the short side. Sorry. However, you can 'bulk up' your body through regular workouts at a gym.
Q. My cough has gone on for six months now. Should I see a doctor?A. Very definitely - especially as there has been a little TB (tuberculosis) recently in your part of the island, which is near Port Antonio.
Q. I am 19 and I have just had an ectopic pregnancy in my left tube. Can I still get pregnant?A. Yes, provided your other tube is OK. Good luck.
Q. Can you give me some advice before it's too late? I am a handsome 18-year-old guy who is still a virgin. I have been masturbating, but am not sure it's safe. Can this affect the chances of me fathering a healthy baby in the future?A. No. Masturbation carries no health risks at all, contrary to what a lot of young people believe. There is absolutely no way that it can affect your chances of having a healthy child.
Q. I am a healthy woman of 20 but I am taking around 12 aspirin tablets a day for period pains. Is there anything else I can do, Doc?A. This is far too much aspirin to be taking in one day. You could give yourself an ulcer - or get other unpleasant and dangerous side effects. Please see a doc about your menses. She can check you over and give you some safe and helpful medication. She may want to put you on the Pill which would almost certainly get rid of these pains for you.
Q. Doc, I am 22 and I keep getting an aching pain in both testicles whenever I am sexually aroused. Could this be cancer, Doc?A. Although 22 is around the 'peak age' for cancer of the testicle, the type of pain you are getting is NOT a symptom of that disease.
In fact, aching in the testicles is NORMAL in young men who have become sexually excited - but have then had no 'release' by means of an orgasm. As soon as they discharge, the pain goes away. This uncomfortable condition is sometimes known as 'orchitis amorosa acuta'. By all means, have your testicles checked by a doc. But the odds are that he will find nothing wrong
