  • House chamber

I find the aesthetic ambience of the chamber of the House of Parliament to be rather tedious on the eyes, if not the sensibilities, especially via television.

I am aware that the idea of constructing a new Parliament building is now under active consideration by the establishment.

In the meantime, however, may I suggest improving the visual appeal of the Parliament chamber by upholstering in orange (or red) 30 of the seats occupied by Parliamentarians, while the Speaker's chair is upholstered in yellow with all remaining seating adorned with black upholstery.

Visually, the chamber of our Parliament would be orange (or red), green, gold and black. What say you, Parliamentarians?

  • Tired of politicians

We need new leaders. Ones who value our opinions and empathize with our concerns We are tired! Tired of You, Mr. Politician.

When will you ever have it in you to admit you've done us wrong? How can you operate with no transparency, integrity or accountability? Do you not see the country has become a Titanic? Rise up my Jamaican people; we must escape the 'rat race', We outnumber them 10,000 to 1 so we must do what it takes. It's our country, our lives, our sanity, and our pride. Know your rights! Avoid the manipulation they try to disguise

  • Adams as Commish

I assert without fear of criticism that Reneto Adams is the most qualified candidate for the post of commissioner of police, and he can only be compared with a few of his colleagues but not surpassed.

Unlike many contenders, Adams, has had international crime-fighting experience with a United Nations peace-keeping mission in Namibia, and he has pursued and traded bullets with some of the fiercest gunmen in this country.

Adams' administrative skills are well honed, having headed several divisions, and even from his recent desk job. These have put him in good stead.

Give us Adams. He is an hard act to follow.

    - Donovan Playfair,Vineyard Town, Kingston 3
