published: Tuesday | November 13, 2007

Hinds

Sidelined West Indies batsman Wavell Hinds was yesterday named in a Jamaica squad to start preparation for the Stanford Twenty20 tournament, set for January.

Hinds, who missed the recent KFC Cup one-day tournament, was serving a three-month ban from the game. He was suspended by the Jamaica Cricket Association for comments he made to umpires in a local cricket match while playing for Kensington.

Training will begin today with game simulations continuing tomorrow at Police Ground, Elletson Road. Two matches will be played on Thursday, one Friday, two Saturday, and one on Sunday after which the final squad will be announced on Sunday.

Squad

Members of the squad are Nikita Miller, Odean Brown, Wavell Hinds, Jermaine Lawson, Tamar Lambert, Nieve McNally, Xavier Marshall, Andre Russell, Ordane Hutchinson, Jowayne Robinson, Brendan Nash, Dwight Stewart, Shawn Findlay, David Bernard Jr., Danza Hyatt, Krishmar Santokie, Maurice Clarke, Carlton Baugh, Bevon Brown, Keith Hibbert, Damion Henry, Andre McCarthy, Junior Stewart and Donovan Sinclair.
