Awful slaying
published: Monday | November 12, 2007

The Editor, Sir:

I read the news in The Gleaner about the slaying of the Samaritans. This incident is really despicable. The couple took the bikers to the hospital and were trying to follow-up on them to make sure they were OK. In return, the low-lives murdered the couple in a gruesome manner.

This is really awful, because this encourages people to hit and run. If stopping to render aid leads to death, this means hit and run makes more sense if one should ever become involved in an accident. The country can't operate in such chaos.

Hanging the innocent

On the topic of hanging, sure a few, honourable, innocent people will be hanged, but really are any of us truly innocent? If we as citizens sit aside and watch gangsters and thugs murder babies and elders, then none of us are actually honourable and innocent. We as citizens, natives and returning residents need to play our part, because we have to really be tired of letting some little low-lives cripple our country.

Condolence goes out to the couple's family. Peace and love.

I am, etc.,
