Who will be Jamaica's next supermodel?
published: Monday | November 12, 2007

From 18 hopefuls, the competition is now down to five beautiful models vying for the opportunity to make their name in the high-flying fashion world, in the Pulse Caribbean Model Search (CMS) Reality TV.

The series, which airs on CVM television on Fridays at 9:00 p.m, accelerates to the final showdown as the girls inch closer to their dream of representing Jamaica in the international leg of the Search for the Caribbean's Next Supermodel.

From the Villa Ronai showdown, the rigorous workout at Gymkhana, the Homestyle Juices freezer/beach bikini 'pose-off', the mime and make-up photo battle, the contestants were faced with numerous challenges. While some found them daunting, others took it all in stride.

As the competition draws closer to the highly anticipated finale, battle runway is on this Friday (November 16) and viewers will see just who's got the goods to take Jamaica's top reality series crown. The winner will then take on girls from across the region, to vie for the final and ultimate modelling title.

Claws are out

Did your favourite girl secure a place in the final five? The claws are out, cliques have been broken and the verbal volleys fly fast and furious. However, Fallon Harris, 19, Heidi Ann Jamieson, 17, Racquel Jones, 19, Saskia McIntyre, 17, and Rochelle Notice, 15, must focus on the greater goal, to prove to the judges and the public that they are the ultimate 'fashion heavyweight'.

University of the West Indies student, Fallon Harris, pledged that the title was undoubtedly hers. "My sole intention is to win and I don't intend to deviate from that plan. The title is mine for the taking," she confidently noted. Not to be outdone was potential supermodel and art student, Racquel Jones. For her, "modelling is a form of art and being an artiste, this is the perfect way for me to express myself. I know that the artiste will emerge the winner!" Seventeen-year-old Saskia says she has been anxiously waiting for this opportunity as she believes she was born to be a model.

Caribbean Model Search is presented by Pulse in association with bmobile, Air Jamaica, Dark & Lovely, Sensationnel, Goddess Remi, Jamrock magazine, Ocean Style magazine, She Caribbean, The Gleaner, CVM TV, HYPE TV, Zip 103, Irie FM, Kool 97 FM, the Hilton, Homestyle Juices and Ting.
