Deanery Road flood
published: Thursday | November 1, 2007

Several homes and at least two businesses at the intersection of Deanery Road and Upper York Street in Kingston were flooded yesterday during the heavy rains. The residents say a blocked drain triggered the problem.

Motorists were inconvenienced along Deanery Road in the vicinity of St. Joseph's Hospital yesterday morning, as residents of the area blocked the road and demanded that the Kingston and St. Andrew Corporation cleans the drain.

The residents and two businessmen who complained to The Gleaner about the flooding of their premises say their furniture and goods were damaged.

Ingrid Graham, a resident of 12 Deanery Road, said the blockage of the drains resulted in the inundation of several homes in the area.
