The Editor, Sir:

Today instead of highlighting the negative actions of the youths of our nation, I would like to turn the spotlight on a wonderful young woman, Elaine Davis, who hails from a little rural district, Howells Content, York Town, Clarendon.

Elaine Davis, an avid netballer, and very recently the recipient of the Courtney Walsh Award of Excellence 2007, in her remarkable way, put Howells Content on the world map. We, the citizens of Howells Content, congratulate and hail you, Elaine. As we retrace your steps from childhood to adulthood, we saw your God-given talent used to the maximum, your resilience, your humility and endurance unchanging!

Wee remember seeing you on television representing your country and your little districts worldwide. We also remember the challenging times as you battled with minor and major injuries; but you always graciously came out the victor!

Elaine has shown that with God, talent, humility and perseverance you can be who you are destined to be. Elaine, please keep on doing what you're doing; you have our full support and we love you!
